With the maximum lifespan of a college athlete lasting four years, it's normal for college athletes and teams to have mini dynasties. Rarely do these episodes run as complete and as dominant as U gymnast Ashley Postell's did. For a team that has experienced as much preeminence and success as there is in any NCAA sport, the fact that Postell's name stands akin to household program names such as Missy Marlowe and Theresa Kulikowski is saying something.

The U gymnastics team will look to add to its 900 all-time program wins when the 2009 Red Rocks kick off the season against the Bruins of UCLA in January. There are high expectations surrounding the team this year, just as there are every year. The U gymnastics team is coming off a season in which its only regular season loss came to Florida on senior night.

This past week the Utah Jazz began the Rocky Mountain Review a little rocky, losing its first two games to the San Antonio Spurs and the Atlanta Hawks. Kosta Koufos, the Jazz's 23rd pick in the 2008 draft showed an unimpressive five points and four rebounds starting his debut with the Jazz on last Fridays game against the Spurs. The Jazz made an embarrassing 29% from the field, losing 57 to 82.
