Studio Soiree is new to Sugarhouse, it's the first of it's kind in Utah. It's not just any dance studio, it's a studio that offers strip tease and pole dancing classes.
At Studio Soiree women can learn the art of pole dancing, and get a great workout while doing it.
"Pole fitness is a great way to develop your core fitness and upper body strength," said Lizz.
Lizz and Niqui, the names they are commonly known by, are the owners and trainers of Studio Soiree, they say their instructional classes will give women the confidence to feel sexy all while working up a sweat.
"Niqui and I came up with Studio Soiree because we wanted a place where everyone could be their own little rock star," said Lizz.
Niqui a former dancer and Lizz a stay at home mom, had the idea to teach private pole lessons out of her house, then the two owners decided to expand and open a studio.
Studio Soiree has been such a success over 100 girls showed up the first month they were open.
"There's so many ways you can look at what we're doing," said Niqui. "On one hand we're doing something kind of risqué in a conservative area, or you can look at is we are bringing something [to Utah] that's so desperately needed."
Among pole fitness and the soiree for one class the studio also offers yoga, couples yoga, men's pole fitness, hip hop, salsa, pilates and cardio cabaret.
The classes are mainly for women, men are invited to the pole fitness for men and couples yoga. The classes are private, doors are locked and the lighting is turned down low. Niqui and Lizz want the women to feel comfortable.
"We have women ages 20 to 65 coming to the classes, this is for anyone, soccer moms, stay at home moms, single women and newly divorced women," said Lizz.
"We make sure to keep classy and upscale, so women will be attracted to it," said Niqui.
The owners encourage women to come comfortable and in clothes they can move in such as yoga clothes and tank tops.
This is a safe place, we see a lot of shy women, we encourage everyone to just come into the studio and just give it a try," said Lizz.
Soiree in French means private party. The studio also offers private lessons and private parties.
Private Parties consist of a minimum of 10 people and $30 per person. The classes can be of any instruction, usually consisting of pole tricks, chair tricks, wall tricks and floor work.
There are four levels of pole fitness each level is six weeks long with homework in between, each course is $220.
Level one is the called the Flirting Course. This course is designed to introduce the women to the pole and get the basic moves down.
Level two is called the Temptress Course, in this course women take what they learned from level one and add to it making it more intense.
Level three is called the Pole Savvy Course. In this course women learn how to climb up the pole and slide down it.
Level four is called the Diva Course. In this course Women learn how to hang upside down on the pole.
"Women learn how to be sensual, it's in all of us, it's just discovering how to get it out," said Lizz.

I enjoyed reading your article about pole dancing, but there were a few errors. Namely, Studio Soiree was never "the first of it's kind in Utah" rather Soiree was the last studio to open up here. (Continued…)
