SLCC baseball coming off best season ever

The SLCC baseball team finished its 2007 season with the best conference record and highest overall winning percentage in school history. They should be even better in 2008.
The 2008 season starts Feb. 29 when Southern Idaho visits Cate Field, where SLCC plays all its home games. By the time the Bruins are wrapping up their season in May, they should only have improved on their 2007 numbers.
Last season, the Bruins finished fourth in the SWAC with a conference record of 23-17 on their way to an overall record of 33-25. Most impressively of all, the team won 20 of their 28 games at home.
Cate Field is located at 3900 West 9000 South. That's just southeast of the 9000 South Bangerter Highway intersection.
Last season, three Bruins received All-Region honors. Outfielder Zackary Swasey from South Jordan was the lone First Team honoree, while pitcher Tyson Ford and outfielder Tyson Gonzalez were on the Second Team.
