SLCC Volleyball Starts 2007 Season

The SLCC volleyball team begins play for the 2007 season Aug. 24-25 in the annual College of Southern Idaho Tournament. CSI finished second in the Scenic West Athletic Conference in 2006 with a record of 8-4, just one game better than SLCC's conference record of 7-5. North Idaho College finished first in the SWAC at 10-2.
One week later the Lifetime Activities Center will SLCC Tournament. Games are Aug. 31-Sept. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
SLCC finished 2006 with an overall record of 28-17 and placed 11th in the NJCAA National Tournament after losing to the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith on Nov. 21 by the score of 30-22, 30-20, 30-22.
Four Bruins were honored on the 2006 All-Region teams. Kris Hymas received SLCC's only First Team honor while Talita Santos and Michaela Hanakova each made the Second Team. Cinthia Silva received Honorable Mention.
After the SLCC Tournament, the Bruins will have seven home games in 2007 from Sept. 11 to Oct. 20. In 2006, SLCC finished with a home record of 8-6.
